So, while I was away in Texas, my daughter called me excitedly to tell me that the “special person of the day” at school was “Mr. Bear”.  I was a bit confused, as the person of the day is typically a student in her class.  Well, my husband got on the phone at told me that Mr. Bear was, in fact, something they constructed in class and ate.  Her teachers kindly sent home a recipe and this weekend, the kids and I constructed our OWN Mr. Bear.  It was pretty cute and very fun, so I thought I’d share our little project with you. :-)

Meet Ang and Aaron.

They are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their little one.   Ang is 34 weeks along now and invited me to spend the morning capturing some sweet moments between her and her husband as they enjoy her pregnancy.  Let me tell you…they are SO cute together!  It was so fun to watch them interact.  This is one lucky baby to be making his way into this loving home.  They are going to be great parents.  Ang is a fellow photographer, so it was very easy to work with her and she was definitely a natural in front of the camera!  It also helps that she has that lovely mama-to-be glow!

Meet Shannon.

She is a senior in high school.  She is my cousin.  Isn’t she beautiful?!?  During the first part of my trip to Texas, I stayed with my aunt and cousins.  Trips are never long enough, are they?  I am missing them all so much and hope to get back down that way to visit them again sometime soon.  While I was there, I was able to have two mini-sessions with Shannon.  One was down my the Guadalupe River, just Shannon and I, and the other was at the Riverwalk and my friend, Kim, joined me in shooting that one!  You can see the pics from her point of view, HERE.

Shannon is pretty much a cowgirl.  And she rocks it.  She could rock pretty much anything.  Look at her!  All of my cousins are beautiful and I can’t wait to do senior pictures for the rest of them!

Okay, I know, I’m rambling and I know you’re all thinking, “just show us the pictures, already!!”  SO, here they are.  Enjoy!

Meet Kim.

She is a fabulous photographer who lives in New Jersey and was also one of my lovely roommates in San Antonio last week.  The last full day we were there, the weather was gorgeous and it ended up hitting 70 degrees!  Being that we both live in cold, snowy areas of the country, we decided to ditch our last classes and spend some time on the riverwalk doing headshots.  Let me tell you…it was a blast!  Here are some of the shots I got of Kim.  Isn’t she adorable and oh-so-fun?!?

Well, after a week long trip to Texas (both personal and business) I am back!  It was an amazing time!  I was able to visit with my fantastic aunt and cousins during the first leg of the trip.  We had such a great time and I am really missing them right now.  I can’t wait to show you all the pics of my gorgeous cousin from her senior session!   The second portion of the trip took me to downtown San Antonio for a photography convention, ImagingUSA.  I had the best roommates ever, too.  Miss Stephanie Fisher and Kim Schmidt.  What a wonderful opportunity!  I learned SO much, met so many fantastic photographers and had a GREAT time!  I am now refreshed and filled with new, awesome ideas.  I have a feeling 2011 is going to be an amazing year!

Back in the fall, I hosted my first-ever Matilda Jane Trunk Show.  It was a blast!  Everyone was in love with the clothes and so pleased with the quality.  A few people have even asked me to host another one!  I am happy to oblige ;-)

Baby Love.

I had my first newborn session of the year with this precious 12 day old boy.  Meet Declan.  He is an absolutely adorable baby!  He wasn’t too fond of sleeping, being naked or curling up, but we made it work.  He has beautiful eyes and was so curious about this new world around him.  He was quite a joy!  Mom and dad were so sweet with him and are head over heels in love with their new bundle!  Here is a little sneak peek of what our newborn session entailed.
