Here We Go [steelers]

Pittsburgh’s going to the superbowl!

Just ask my son.  He is BEYOND excited that the Steelers are going to the Superbowl.  He talks about it all the time and tells everyone he meets (as if they don’t already know…haha!).  He wants to wear his Steelers shirts and jerseys ALL.THE.TIME.  If it wasn’t so darn cute, I might be annoyed ;-)

Needless to say, today, for our 52 week project, he wanted us ALL to wear our Steeler’s attire…again.  We obliged.  We also threw a couple goofy shots in there as well.  For your viewing pleasure…our Steelers shots.

GO STEELERS!!!!!!!

Mr. Bear

Monday, January 31st, 2011

So, while I was away in Texas, my daughter called me excitedly to tell me that the “special person of the day” at school was “Mr. Bear”.  I was a bit confused, as the person of the day is typically a student in her class.  Well, my husband got on the phone at told me that Mr. Bear was, in fact, something they constructed in class and ate.  Her teachers kindly sent home a recipe and this weekend, the kids and I constructed our OWN Mr. Bear.  It was pretty cute and very fun, so I thought I’d share our little project with you. :-)

Meet….Mr. Bear!

52 Weeks 2010 – COMPLETED!

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

As some of you may recall, I was attempting a 52 week project this past year.  Each week, I (or my husband) took a photo of myself and the kids together.  Well, I am very happy to say that we were able to complete it!  There were times that it was difficult and I wanted to give up, but now that it is done, I am SO glad I stuck with it!  Here are some of the pics from the second half of the year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Gingerbread fun!

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

If there is one thing in life that I just love, it’s Christmas.  Everything about it.  The pretty white snow that covers up the mud, the excitement of the children, the beautiful lights, the spirit and joy that is contagious, the decorations, wrapping gifts…all of it.  All year long, I anxiously await this magical holiday.  This year is no different.

Yesterday, the kids and I spent the afternoon assembling a gingerbread house.  Although they have done them before, this was my first time.  Let’s just say….it is not my forte.  Haha!  I cut the icing bag too much and the icing came out in globs.  The roof kept sliding off, even though I allowed the recommended 20 minutes before decorating.  It isn’t the prettiest house ever, but it was fun!  The kids had a blast and who cares what it looks like, right?  RIGHT?!?  Of course, I documented this little endeavor with some photos.  What else did you expect??

I hope you and yours have an AMAZING holiday!

Say Cheese.

“Your kids are so good for the camera.”

I hear this a lot.

And it’s mostly true.  My daughter, however, has a lot of…energy.  She likes to be goofy and silly and “crazy”, as she likes to say.  Well, it’s more like “trazy” in her words.  I was actually attempting to get some shots of my son, when Miss Camera Hog entered the pictures.  How could I resist?  As frustrating as it can be, I do love these shots because they are very…HER.

Such a silly girl :-)

52 Weeks

I have been very negligent in posting my 52 week pictures here.  I apologize for that!  Here is a brief summary for those of you who are interested.  We’re now on week 38!!

Running | My First 5K

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

So, back in May I decided to start running.  I am not a very strong runner, so I had to take baby steps.  Like, really, really small steps.  Many times I wanted to quit.  I remember, on numerous occasions, texting a good friend of mine and telling her I wasn’t cut out for it.  She made me continue.  When I was F.E.D. U.P, she said “Run with me.”  So I did.  I ran with two close friends who were amazing.  They are SO supportive and so helpful.  I love them.  Thanks the THEM, I ran my first 5K last weekend!  It might not be a big feat for some people, but it sure was for me.

To C and K:  Thank you SO much for everything.  You are truly great people.

Now, of COURSE there are some pics to go with this.  Bryan was in charge of the camera ;-)  The kiddos even participated in a fun little race afterward.  SUCH a great time!!
